Engagement is one signal, not a guarantee of reach or earnings. Public data availability can vary.
How the engagement rate is calculated
Engagement by views = (likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100. This view-based rate helps compare reactions to the number of times a video was watched. It is different from a follower-based engagement formula.
(likes + comments + shares) ÷ views × 100
For example: 100 likes, 10 comments and 5 shares across 1,000 views = 11.5%.
What does the result tell me?
It summarizes public reactions relative to views. It cannot measure watch time, audience fit, future reach or actual creator earnings, so use it as one signal rather than a verdict.

Frequently asked questions
Why is there no result when views are zero?
Division by zero has no meaningful percentage, so the calculator leaves the result unavailable.
Can I use any TikTok URL?
Use a public, standard video link in the format tiktok.com/@creator/video/…. Short links and private videos are not supported by this calculator. RapidAPI availability and the creator’s returned posts can vary.
Is engagement rate a guaranteed measure of video quality?
No. It describes the public metrics available for that video and does not account for watch time, audience makeup, niche context or other factors.
